About the Role

As a Mental Health Clinician, you'll work within a shared-care model alongside Child, Youth and Family Practitioners. You will deliver interventions for children and adolescents (and their families) designed to improve their social skills and build their psychological and functional capacity, using a case management approach alongside clinical interventions to provide holistic support.

This is a full‑time role working from our office located in Yarrabilba. You will provide outreach support in client homes and schools within the Logan/Beaudesert region, with all work‑related travel reimbursed.


About You

To succeed in this role, you will be a qualified professional with a minimum of two years' work experience using case management approaches to support in the care planning, review and follow up coordination for program participants. This includes maintaining strong links with GPs, psychiatrists and allied health workers to coordinate clinical and non‑clinical support services and working with social service providers and/or community services as necessary.

You will work collaboratively with caregivers, stakeholders and team members to provide mental health clinical care and coordination alongside psychosocial supports which contribute to the care planning and case management strategies which support the step-up and step-down process to access the most appropriate services.

You will also contribute to/facilitate group learning through informal peer development such as peer supervision, under the guidance of the Accoras Leaders and work with the child or young person's family to develop plans and work to achieve them.


Other key responsibilities will include:

* Providing evidence‑based, clinical and non‑clinical, therapeutic interventions with participants experiencing complex to severe mental health conditions
* Supporting the program with clinical consultations alongside Child, Youth and Family Practitioners
* Undertaking clinical file reviews of young people connected to CPSP and providing recommendations and avenues of support
* Assessing and responding to risks to young people's safety, including domestic and family violence, bullying, suicide, child protection issues and mandatory reporting
* Ensuring timely reporting in line with program time frames and guidelines


Qualifications and Experience:

* Tertiary qualifications or above in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology or similar
* Demonstrated experience in providing evidence‑based clinical interventions to a case load of young people with complex to severe mental health problems/disorders
* Well developed knowledge of child and adolescent mental health
* Experience working from a strengths‑based framework and utilising a client‑centred and family‑focused approach
* Proven ability to work confidently with family systems, providing advice and guidance around basic parenting and age‑appropriate development
* Demonstrated appropriate decision and problem solving skills
* Demonstrate the ability to build effective relationships and referral pathways with other service providers and key stakeholders
