Permanent full time (two roles)
Salary
$77,500 to $104,459 per annum (based on 70 hours per fortnight), plus superannuation, and a 9 day fortnight. Appointed salary in this range will be based on skills, qualifications and experience.

About the roles
1) Strategic Planner (Contributions)
As a valued member of the team, you will play a key role in the preparation, review and delivery of Planning Certificates in accordance with Section 10.7 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, within established service delivery timeframes. The role also contributes to broader strategic planning functions, including the preparation of environmental planning studies, planning instruments and development control plans, and the assessment of development applications. The position services Council's constituents and external customers and contributes to the Planning Division's objective of striking a balance between meeting the needs of Hornsby Shire's growing population and protecting its natural environment.
2) Strategic Planner
As a valued member of the team, you will be involved in exciting strategic land use planning projects within the Hornsby local government area. The position services Council's constituents and external customers and contributes to the Planning Division's objective of striking a balance between meetings the needs of Hornsby Shire's growing population and protecting its natural environment.
Position requirements
Applicants should have completed or are nearing completion of a Town Planning Degree and have experience in:
* Land use planning
* Environmental planning
* Local Government legislation
* Project management
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are a must
About you
You are a pro‐active, enthusiastic person who has good organisational and time‐management skills and the ability to plan and implement projects. You have high level professional knowledge and skills and advanced research, analysis and problem‐solving abilities. Proficiency in oral and written communication is essential in fulfilling the tasks associated with reporting and presenting complex issues to Council and the community.
