What We're Looking For
We are seeking ambitious sales professionals with a passion for sales, eagerness to learn, and love for fast-paced environments. As a Business Development Representative, you will be working closely with your paired Channel Sales Manager to strategize, reach out to mid-market and Fortune 1000 companies, and provide valuable insights and stories showcasing Actian's technology and unique value proposition.
You will utilize cutting-edge sales tools to creatively plan and connect with prospective customers. Your role will involve prospecting new partners, identifying potential leads, and continually learning new skills to prepare for senior sales roles in the future.
Business Development Role:
* You'll work in a dynamic sales team environment with Channel partner Managers, Account Executives, and technical engineering teams.
* You will utilize modern sales methodologies and prospecting tools to identify and prioritize accounts generating revenue based on your territory and team collaboration.
* You will create a best first impression across multi-channel selling to differentiate Actian.
* You'll engage key decision-makers, adapting messaging to stakeholders, ensuring they understand Actian's value and get excited about its cutting-edge technology.
* You'll discover customer pain points and be prepared to tell the Actian story, highlighting customer success stories to differentiate why Actian is a game-changer in multi-cloud data and analytics.
* You'll qualify prospects, document information into winning sales plans in Salesforce.com, and synthesize client interactions for sales management and account executives.
Key Objectives:
* Qualify accounts, leading to new opportunity creation, manage leads in your territory strategically.
* Conduct thorough account and prospect research to build a world-class partner database for your territory.
* Develop key messaging and content to drive repeatability against Ideal Partner Profiles, Targeted Personas, and 1:1 Account ABM.
* Achieve consistent qualified meetings.
* Manage an organized territory plan and maintain Salesforce.com with precision.
* Set and conduct discovery calls with your team.
Requirements:
* At least one year of sales or service experience.
* You must be a confident communicator, comfortable speaking with managers, executives, and prospects via phone, email, and multi-channel platforms.
* A measurable track record of succeeding in goal-oriented environments.
* Experience in the mid-market/enterprise space is beneficial.
* You believe customer success starts with sales and continues across the company, including creating a best first impression.
* You're creative, self-motivated, and outcome-focused, with excellent communication and organizational skills.
* You can leverage modern sales prospecting tools like ZoomInfo, SalesLoft/Outreach, ABX tools, and LinkedIn SalesNavigator.
