**About the Program**
Palladium International Pty Ltd is the Managing Contractor for the Australian Government's Humanitarian Logistics Capability (HLC). The objective of the Humanitarian Logistics Capability is to facilitate the timely, effective, and flexible delivery of the Australian Government's humanitarian assistance and emergency relief program around the world.
Through the HLC program, Palladium delivers six domains of capability:
i. Procurement of humanitarian and emergency relief supplies and equipment
ii. Storage and handling of pre-positioned supplies and equipment
iii. Specialised logistics personnel and expertise
iv. Specialised logistics and transport capabilities with a global reach
v. Offshore deployment support services
vi. Consular crisis management capabilities.
**The Position**
Based at the HLC Project Office in Pinkenba, Brisbane, the Warehouse Manager leads the warehouse team to deliver warehouse warehouse management services in a quick-paced and fluid environment, while working collaboratively with other members of the wider HLC team.
The primary responsibilities of the HLC Warehouse Manager can be broadly described as follows:
- Ensure that the warehouse operates at peak efficiency — with customer satisfaction the primary goal by supervising, organizing, and training warehouse employees and establishing, monitoring, and managing operational goals.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing standards and procedures, which comply with legal requirements.
- Train and manage the warehouse team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short
- and long-term performance goals.
- Supervise daily warehouse activities, including quality assurance, inventory control through Bi-Annual and post response/Replenishment blind stock-take activities, space management, logistics, floor productivity, shipping, and customer service.
- Ensure the yard and warehouse facility is maintained and cleaned to maintain a qualified and safe environment.
With the support of the program's HLC Program staff and working closely with staff from DFAT's Humanitarian and Preparedness Branch (HMB), the Warehouse Manager will play a critical role in supporting the Australian Government's humanitarian relief efforts.
**What we are looking for**
This position requires a dedicated professional with excellent leadership, management, and communication skills to ensure warehouse readiness to support the timely delivery of supplies for global emergency humanitarian responses.
It will also require a strong commitment to humanitarian principles, a willingness to learn and adapt to rapidly changing situations, whilst collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in warehouse management, supply chain, logistics, including experience managing staff.
- Experience adhering to, implementing and maintaining relevant safety regulations and legislation, Cert IV in WHS is highly desirable
- Relevant High Risk Works licence for operation of mechanical handling equipment (forklift and high reach truck).
- Experience and understanding of working with Dangerous Goods and adhering to relevant procedures and reporting requirements
- Highly responsive with strong time management skills and an ability to meet tight deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication, liaison and interpersonal skills
