Position overview * Employment Type: Part time (48 hours per fortnight), Fixed term parental leave position * Commencing: 20 July 2026 * Ending: 18 July 2027 * Location: Warrnambool Campus * Classification: Associate Nurse Unit Manager * Salary Range: $120,416.40 - $124,472.40 pro rata, plus superannuation About the role South West Healthcare (SWH) is seeking a motivated, highly skilled, and experienced Registered Nurse to provide day-to-day leadership and management within our Rehabilitation Unit in the role of Associate Nurse Unit Manager. Working collaboratively with a range of clinical services, you will support patients in our 28-bed unit to achieve optimal recovery outcomes. The role focuses on delivering safe, high-quality, and patient-centred care in a supportive and compassionate environment for patients and their families. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to team leadership while fostering a positive and professional workplace culture. You will work closely with the Nurse Unit Manager to promote and maintain clinical standards, ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality care. Key responsibilities include: * Supporting the operational and clinical management of the unit * Promoting best practice standards and continuous quality improvement * Assisting with workforce planning, supervision, and development of staff * Contributing to effective and sustainable resource and cost management * Supporting a culture of safety, collaboration, and patient-centred care What you bring * A Registered Nurse - holding a current Registration Certificate as required by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). * Role models the Southwest Healthcare values. * A minimum of five years post graduate nursing experience, with demonstrated excellent clinical assessment skills. * Demonstrated strong clinical, safety and professional standards within the Emergency environment, including patient centred care. * Demonstrated commitment to professional development of self and others. * Demonstrated ability to communicate orally, electronically and in writing. * Demonstrated decision making ability, a role model, problem solving and supervising staff.
