Job Details
The Australian Electoral Commission is seeking experienced Technical Business Analysts to support the Funding and Disclosure Reform (FAD) Program. The role involves guiding the design and improvement of new services with a focus on end-user outcomes.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Lead business analysis activities in a multi-disciplinary agile delivery team across all phases
* Design and facilitate workshops and interviews with diverse stakeholder groups
* Translate business needs into technical specifications and user stories for development teams
* Analyse data flows, system interfaces, APIs, and technical documents to inform solutions
* Collaborate with architects, developers, and project teams to ensure requirements traceability
* Maintain process models, wireframes, system documentation, data models, and interface specs
* Apply professional judgement to evaluate risks in complex environments
* Contribute to Agile ceremonies including backlog refinement, prioritisation, and estimation

Essential Criteria
1. Five plus years experience as a Business Analyst / Technical Business Analyst
2. Experience in planning, running, and documenting user interviews with open-ended engagement to analyse root causes and elicit both high-level and detailed business problems
3. Demonstrated ability to translate business and user needs using various methods to derive technical outcomes aligned with user requirements
4. Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a project and program environment
5. Effective communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholder collaboration
6. Demonstrated experience with systems integration, APIs, and data modelling
Desirable Criteria
1. Experience working in agile delivery teams including discovery and design
2. Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience
3. Experience in cloud-based environments (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS)
4. Previous exposure to ServiceNow or similar platforms
