About The Role
As a Senior Library Services Officer, you will be a visible and trusted leader across multiple campuses, supervising a team that delivers high‐quality, responsive and inclusive library services across extended hours, including evenings and weekends. You will act as the first point of contact for general library enquiries and be a strong advocate for self‐service, while ensuring expert support is always close at hand.
This role is central to the success of the Services and Spaces team—supporting productive, safe and welcoming library environments that underpin student success, wellbeing, teaching and research. You'll work closely with colleagues across the Library to continuously improve services, spaces and systems, while developing the capability and confidence of those you lead.

What You'll Be Doing
* Lead and supervise Services and Spaces team members across a span of operating hours, fostering a culture of customer service excellence, continuous improvement and inclusion.
* Deliver timely, accurate and professional frontline support through face‐to‐face, phone and digital channels.
* Coordinate and oversee the effective use of Library spaces, resources and collections (physical and online).
* Interpret and communicate Library policies, procedures and copyright requirements clearly and confidently.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to design and deliver programs that enhance student wellbeing, belonging and engagement.
* Contribute to operational planning, process improvement and service renewal initiatives.
* Support safe operations by coordinating space management activities, event setups and collection movements, in line with OH&S requirements.
* Actively support Health, Safety and Wellbeing, including undertaking building or floor warden responsibilities.
About You
You are a confident, hands‐on leader with a strong customer service ethos and a genuine passion for enhancing the student and academic experience. You enjoy building relationships, solving problems and developing the skills and knowledge of others.
You will bring
* Demonstrated experience supervising and motivating teams in a frontline service environment.
* Strong organisational, communication and problem‐solving skills.
* An understanding of higher education and the important role that libraries play in learning, teaching and research.
* Advanced digital literacy and confidence working with library or service‐delivery systems.
* A collaborative, inclusive leadership style aligned with equity, diversity and inclusion principles.
A tertiary qualification in library and/or information studies or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and training is desirable.
