Responsibilities
* Manage and grow a cross-functional team of developers and testers. You'll be responsible for their professional development, fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaborative problem-solving.
* Remain deeply involved in the development and maintenance of high-quality back-end solutions, ensuring they are secure, scalable, and resilient.
* Provide expert analysis, planning, and estimation for new features. Align technical execution with our product roadmap and broader company standards.
* Work as a key partner to the CTO, Head of Product, and fellow Team Leads to coordinate releases and ensure technology initiatives drive business value.
* Champion best practices across the entire SDLC. Implement efficient Agile methodologies and ensure our infrastructure considers disaster recovery and top-tier security.
* Design and manage high-integrity payment processing pipelines, focusing on card authorisation, clearing, and reconciliation.
* Maintain rigorous standards for security compliance and data integrity across all integrated systems.
* Oversee complex API integrations with external networks and financial gateways.
* Stay ahead of payments industry trends in tokenisation, real-time processing, and emerging global standards.
About you
* Proven track record of managing technical teams and delivering enterprise-level applications.
* You are a veteran of complex third-party integrations involving high-stakes transactional data. You have a deep understanding of maintaining state across distributed systems using webhooks, idempotent APIs, and asynchronous processing.
* Significant experience in high-volume transactional environments, specifically regarding complex processing systems and industry-standard security protocols (PCI-DSS).
* Deep knowledge of network connectivity, API management, and fraud prevention controls.
* Experience with ISO standards, tokenisation, and modern authentication protocols.
* A strong advocate for the SDLC, from initial design through to after-hours support and maintenance.
