Our client is looking for a Farm Hand to join their family-run operation, which spans two properties and produces around 140,000 tonnes of sugar cane, along with rotation crops such as soybeans, cow peas, and mung beans. This role is a great opportunity for someone keen to participate in all areas of the business and be part of a well-managed professional team with future leadership opportunities possible. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is a major focus on this farm. The successful candidate must be a motivated, fast learning individual with a positive attitude.
Daily tasks:
* Operating tractors and farm equipment in all cultivation operations including planting, fertilising, spraying and harvesting
* Setting up irrigation systems and helping with general farm work
* Preparing paddocks and applying fertiliser
* Maintaining and servicing machinery and vehicles
* Completing farm records and routine tasks
* Supporting the team to keep farm operations running smoothly
Role Requirements:
* Experience in row-cropping or sugar cane farming is preferred
* HR truck licence is an advantage
* Physically fit and healthy for farm work
* Able to operate modern farm machinery, using Trimble/Greenstar, and conduct basic maintenance
* Strong work ethic and a positive, can-do attitude
* Takes pride in the workplace and personal presentation
