About the Role
Bend-tech has excellent, proven growth with impressive further growth potential. Part of this growth is the need for a Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in optimising our production processes to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and seamless operations.
About You
With a proactive, people-first attitude and friendly demeanour, we are seeking an individual that can act at all levels within the business, applying strategy across all divisions to the operational level and getting into finite processes and procedures, etc. The role requires experience in the creation and implementation of best practice operations and systems to support a growing business. Leading four departments (each with a Line Manager), this role is an excellent opportunity for somebody who wants to make their mark in evolving the business to support productivity and international expansion, becoming a global Operations Manager.
Key result areas:
Manage production plans to ensure resources and processes are utilised in a way that optimises inventory, machinery, labour and facilitates the achievement of sales plans and production targets.
Ensure the company's products and services meet customer expectations by monitoring production KPIs and metrics
Manage the technical and quality interactions with production employees and ensure that customer focus is maintained and prioritised.
Take full accountability to ensure a robust S&OP process is conducted and business improvement plans implemented
Develop and provide accurate and timely reporting to Management on activities and performance
Proactively contribute to change / growth strategies and programs that reinforce desired values and behaviors, improve culture, climate, morale and enhance performance and productivity.
Develop and implement a strategy for maintenance schedules, raw materials requirements, systems infrastructure, and stock levels in accordance with operational budgets and parameters.
Ensure performance management policies, processes and procedures are consistently followed, fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration.
Work with Health & Safety Advisor, ensuring that work is carried out in a safe working manner, maintaining safe working environments.
Working cross-departmentally with a wide range of stakeholders to ensure all operations are aligned with our objectives
Establish strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
Communicate issues with the operations team and devise ways of improving the customer experience, including resolving problems and complaints
Provide coaching, guidance and feedback to continually develop Ops team
Passion for growth and success in a family environment
Selection Criteria:
Minimum 10 years' demonstrated success in an Operational Management role, particularly in manufacturing (and / or Supply Chain), with significant leadership experience
A love of technology, developing efficiencies with hunger for growth and excellence
Strong leadership and people management skills
Strong financial and business acumen
Ability to effectively coach and mentor team members with a collaborative and enabling approach
Experience in vendor management of overseas suppliers is desirable.
Ability to build trusting and authentic relationships with internal and external stakeholders
High level of organisational skills with the ability to self-manage time and work under pressure to meet deadlines
Ability to think analytically and develop effective strategies
Experienced in driving cost reduction through a continuous improvement strategy and an understanding of LEAN principles.
Demonstrated ability in leading S&OP process.
Experience and demonstrated understanding of practical application of Operational Excellence across all roles on site and with stakeholders
Leadership experience at delivering safety and cultural change in the industrial or manufacturing sectors.
Strong understanding of safety principles and behaviours
Refined and well-developed communication and influencing skills.
