The role The Kalgoorlie Geochemistry business is seeking a proactive and driven Production Manager. This position will be key in delivering success at the heart of the Australian goldfields.

Reporting to the Kalgoorlie Operations Manager, this will be a very active role across four sections, ensuring client sample preparation and analytical testing requirements and deadlines are met. By optimising resources, analysing productivity challenges, engaging staff and providing leadership, you will maximise production targets while managing costs, and maintaining quality and safety standards.

The day to day

* Prioritise work orders, managing staffing levels and rosters to ensure sufficient resources are available to meet turnaround and production targets and efficient financial performance.
* Assess the operations with a view to increasing productivity, safety and teamwork. Reviewing workflows and procedures to maximise efficiency and minimise waste.
* Ensure appropriate human resource management and health, safety and environment practices are followed.
* Liaise with other Geochemistry facilities to ensure client deadlines are met, production targets are optimised, and process efficiencies are maximised.
* Manage the compliance with safety, health, environmental, quality and relevant industry standards.
* Report on production, incident investigations, log maintenance requests and roll out HR initiatives.
* Advise on purchase of capital equipment, undertake preparation of CEP documents and authorise the purchase of consumables.

* Promote and support One ALS and Safety as a Priority culture for all staff.

The Essentials

* Strong leadership skills and an ability to motivate and develop staff.
* Proven track record of people management including recruitment, safety leadership, conflict management and performance management.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* A highly‑organised nature with an ability to manage multiple objectives daily.
* Proven planning, organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work to deadlines.
* Excellent analytical thought pattern, observation skills and problem solving ability.
* A strong desire for continuous improvement and a tendency towards innovation.
* Laboratory experience within a supervisory role, or similar experience in an operational or production environment.
* Operational and P&L financial skills an advantage.
* Tertiary qualifications in Science (preferably Chemistry), Geology or a related field preferred, but not essential.
