The Opportunity The Production Planner / Analyst is responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant production planning, yield reporting, and performance analysis across the plant. The role maintains accountability for collecting, validating, and interpreting operational data to support regulatory, quality, and production standards. This includes monitoring carcass yields, product performance, and efficiency metrics, ensuring data integrity, and providing reliable insights that drive continuous improvement and support informed decision-making. The position requires strong attention to detail, sound Excel/data competency, and an understanding of meat processing operations to uphold transparency, accuracy, and operational compliance. Key Responsibilities Your role will involve: Data Analysis & Reporting Collate and analyse production and yield data to identify trends or variances. Assist maintaining accurate data for carcass breakdowns, primal recovery, and SKU outputs. Prepare daily and weekly production performance reports for management review. Track KPIs such as throughput, downtime, and utilisation, highlighting areas for improvement. Support forecasting, costing, and production efficiency analysis Production Planning & Coordination Assist with preparing daily and weekly production schedules across slaughter, boning, value-add, and packaging areas. Support the alignment of production plans with sales orders, inventory levels, and customer specifications. Liaise with operations, cold stores, logistics, and commercial teams to ensure smooth execution of the plan. Monitor product yields, recovery rates, and line performance to support accurate future planning. Help manage production adjustments based on raw material availability, labour, and equipment capacity. Continuous Improvement Assist in identifying and implementing planning or process improvements. Support initiatives to optimise carcass utilisation, reduce waste, and improve cost efficiency. Participate in cross-department meetings to align production, sales, and inventory planning. What Makes You a Great Fit Experience in a planning, scheduling, or production support role (preferably in a food or meat processing environment) preferred but not essential. Strong interest in production systems and supply chain operations within the red meat industry. Analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills. High attention to detail and data accuracy. Good communication and teamwork across departments. Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced production environment. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools. Experience or exposure to ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Pronto, SAP, or similar) preferred but not essential. Understanding of processing operations or production workflows advantageous.
