Role
Our client is seeking an Account Manager based in Perth. This is an established portfolio within a global ingredients and specialty chemical distribution business, offering strong internal support and a diverse customer base.
Reporting directly to the Commercial Manager of Industrial & Home Care I&I ingredients, this role is primarily focused on managing and developing key accounts across a broad mix of industries, including industrial manufacturing, food & beverage, personal care, coatings, mining‐related applications, and general chemical markets.
This is a genuine account management position suited to a relationship‐driven professional who thrives on maintaining long‐term partnerships, ensuring customer satisfaction, and identifying organic growth opportunities. While some new business development is encouraged, the core focus is on nurturing and expanding existing accounts.
Responsibilities
* Manage and grow an established portfolio of customer accounts
* Build strong, long‐term relationships with key stakeholders across multiple industries
* Identify cross‐selling and upselling opportunities across the broader product portfolio
* Provide product information, application guidance and coordinate technical support where required
* Develop account plans and execute structured call cycles aligned to agreed KPIs
* Maintain accurate CRM data and manage pipeline reporting
* Prepare quotations, pre‐costings and margin calculations
* Assist in resolving customer queries and quality‐related matters in collaboration with internal teams
* Work closely with Sales, Technical, Customer Service, Supply Chain and other Business Units
* Participate in supplier training and internal development programs
* Contribute to margin growth and business unit performance targets
Qualifications
* Proven experience in Account Management, Territory Management or Technical Sales
* Strong relationship management skills with a "farmer" mindset
* Experience managing multiple industries or diverse product portfolios (highly regarded)
* Background in ingredients, specialty chemicals, industrial distribution, manufacturing or related sectors
* Tertiary qualifications in Science, Engineering, Commerce or a related discipline (desirable but not mandatory for the right candidate)
* Commercial acumen, including experience with quotations, margin management and budgeting
* Adaptability and openness to new systems, processes and change
* Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative team approach
* Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel within WA
