Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Irrigation Maintenance Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and operating our irrigation systems, ensuring efficient water use and effective system performance.
About the Role:
This is a key position within our Parks & Landscapes team, requiring strong technical skills and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial irrigation maintenance, knowledge of central irrigation software systems, and ability to interpret irrigation plans and troubleshoot faults.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain and operate pressurised and central control irrigation systems
* Perform regular inspections, audits, and reactive repairs
* Set up and manage flow systems and watering schedules, ensuring alignment with seasonal needs and recycled water limitations
* Train and support team members in irrigation best practices
* Maintain turf surfaces to a safe standard and report on turf health
* Monitor water meters and soil moisture for efficient system performance
* Engage with internal teams, contractors, and residents to ensure high service standards
* Contribute to a positive safety culture and adhere to WHS and Council procedures
Requirements:
* Certificate III in Irrigation Technology or Horticulture
* MR Driver's Licence
* Experience in commercial irrigation maintenance
* Knowledge of central irrigation software systems
* Ability to interpret irrigation plans and troubleshoot faults
* Good communication, teamwork, and organisational skills
* Backhoe competency and relevant plant operation licences
* ChemCert accreditation (transport and application)
* White Card, First Aid, Manual Handling, and Work Zone Traffic Management
Mandatory Clearances:
