Primary objective
Deliver professional, high-quality administrative and financial services to the Senior Coordinator and Administration Officer, Principal, and
teaching staff, while operating effectively within a busy and demanding school environment. The role requires consistently providing
exceptional customer service to students, colleagues, parents, stakeholders, and the wider community, ensuring all interactions are
professional, responsive, and aligned with the school’s values.
Context statement
Driver Secondary School is expanding to be a full comprehensive high school offering education from Year 7 through to Year 12 by 2029,
providing a seamless and inclusive learning environment that caters to a diverse range of student interests and abilities. Our curriculum is
guided by the Australian Curriculum and the South Australian Certificate of Education for senior years students, and our school is designed
to deliver the Northern Territory Certificate of Education and Training, with all students on a Northern Territory Certificate of Education
and Training pathway ensuring that students meet the academic standards required for successful completion of secondary education. In
addition to a strong academic curriculum, the school incorporates Vocational Education and Training pathways, enabling students to gain
practical skills and industry-recognised qualifications alongside their academic studies. This dual focus equips students with both the
knowledge and competencies necessary to pursue further education, training, or direct entry into the workforce, fostering well-rounded,
future-ready graduates.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Deliver professional front office reception duties including answering calls, greeting visitors, scheduling appointments and providing
information to the wider school community.
2. Perform data entry and retrieval of data from the Student Administration Management System and other school data systems such as
Compass and Timetabler, to ensure the integrity and currency of all manual and computerised student records.
3. Provide administrative support to the Principal, leadership team, teaching staff and other relevant tasks as directed by the Senior
Coordinator and Administration Officer.
4. Responsible for accurate and timely receipting and banking of monies coming into the school and ordering and maintaining supplies.
5. Provide First Aid for sick and injured students and monitor and dispense student medication.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated ability to think proactively and plan within a dynamic school front office environment, including anticipating the needs
of students, staff, parents, and visitors, preparing for peak periods such as enrolment periods, coordinating administrative tasks and
resources in advance at the capacity at a level appropriate to AO3.
2. Demonstrated experience and capacity to identify potential issues early, maintain a strong customer focus, and coordinate front-office
functions, including managing a wide range of situations with professionalism, supporting smooth daily operations, and ensuring
students, staff, parents, and visitors receive timely, accurate, and respectful service.
3. Demonstrated experience in providing a range of administrative functions and the use of various office systems applications such as
administration management databases, spreadsheets and reporting.
4. Proven ability to develop and maintain working partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
5. Sound written, oral and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with people from diverse cultural,
religious, and socio-economic backgrounds.
6. Ability to monitor own performance and tasks against expected outcomes, deadlines, whilst in a busy, fast-paced work environment.
