Opal Fibre Packaging provides a full service offering in corrugated cardboard box packaging from design and product testing through to supply chain integration. We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Fitter to join the team at our site in Rocklea (QLD).
This includes but not limited to:
* The Maintenance Fitter will be responsible for mechanical maintenance, installations and corrective tasks of machinery and equipment
* Play a key role within a team focused on the development and execution of efficient preventative maintenance practices on the site
* The timely action and satisfactory completion of preventative maintenance work as directed.
* Provide technical support to the Maintenance and Production teams
* Where required, assist with root cause investigations and implementation of corrective actions for repetitive failures and attending to machine breakdowns
* Assist with ordering components from external suppliers as necessary with appropriate approval
* Respond to specific requests regarding the details of repair and/or maintenance to equipment on a technical basis

The successful candidate will have the ability to demonstrate strong fault finding and communication skills and have the ability to problem solve and show initiative. To be successful in this role you must be a keen, energetic individual who has a good eye for detail, a hard‐working ethic and willingness to learn.
For this role we would ideally like you to have:
* Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical (Fitting/Machining) or equivalent qualifications
* Skills in basic machining (mills, lathe, drill press)
* Proven experience as a Maintenance Fitter in Paper/Packaging or high‐speed manufacturing facility
* Forklift licence (highly regarded)
* Experience in the use of CMMS and other maintenance/reliability tools and practices.
* Confined space trained (ideal, but not required)
* Ability to work overtime hours as required
