Role purpose
The Registered Nurse will be responsible for the clinical care, staff and operational management of the residents within the designated area of the Dalrymple Villa.
Relationships
Division: Residential Aged Care
Reports to: Director of Nursing / Manager; Nurse Unit Manager/s
Internal: All other nursing care staff, site contractors & support (ie catering & maintenance), Lifestyle staff & allied health
External: External regulatory bodies, external allied health
Key Accountabilities
Participate as a key member of the Clinical Care team & demonstrate a level of qualified conduct that reflects the organisational Vision & mission statement.
Competent in all aspects of Resident clinical care (from initial admission, assessment, care planning & ongoing review). Evaluate Resident outcomes with senior staff & ensure care reflects these outcomes.
Ensure own clinical practice is within regulatory guidelines & reflects understanding of the needs of the aged person.
Demonstrate excellent communication skills and a positive customer-focused profile to all stakeholders.
Understand the Aged Care funding process & contribute to ongoing evaluations & ensure assessments are completed as required.
Competent in understanding & participation of organisational Continuous Improvement / risk management / quality management systems.
Compliant & clear in relation to OHS requirements for maintaining a safe environment for self & other stakeholders.
Position specifications
Key Tasks
Lead care staff and foster a teamwork-driven, resident-focused environment.
Ensure all staff under RN work within their scope and meet organisational standards for care, professionalism, and customer service.
Work with senior staff to ensure each Resident's care follows best practices and respects their needs and preferences.
Maintain clear, consistent communication with colleagues, staff, Residents & families while respecting privacy & dignity.
Ensure safe & secure management of medications.
Attend site meetings & mandatory staff training as required or directed by site Manager.
Liaise with internal & external customers (Residents, families, contractors & visitors) in a compassionate, helpful manner that reflects the organisational Mission & Vision.
Demonstrate understanding & complete internal audits that help maintain the quality framework.
Become competent with Aged Care Funding assessments (AN ACC) & assist Personal Care workers with completion within due time frames.
Contribute proactively to the continuous improvement process and explain it to stakeholders.
Respond to complaints in a positive, calm & supportive manner; communicate with Senior Staff for follow-up; liaise with CCC or senior management if resolution is needed.

Qualifications
Essential: Current Registered Nurse (APRHA) qualifications
Desirable: At least 3 years experience working within aged care sector or elderly people
Other:
Computer literacy (Microsoft Word & basic Excel)
Satisfactory Police Check; Driver's License, Nurse Registration as appropriate

At least 3 years of relevant work experience required for this role
Expected salary: $85,389.20 per year
