This exciting Senior Perinatal Peer Support Worker role draws on lived experience to provide compassionate, recovery-oriented support across South Eastern Sydney. The position will lead service development initiatives, contribute to quality improvement projects, and champion advocacy to strengthen perinatal mental health care.

Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, you will provide peer support across Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Services (PIMHS) and play a key role in shaping responsive, person-centred care.

Across South Eastern Sydney LHD, supporting the Eastern Suburbs, St George and Sutherland PIMHS teams.

Selection Criteria:

* Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work or willingness and commitment to obtain, with lived experience as a consumer of Mental Health Services, personal experience of mental distress during parental period and being a parent, and extensive experience working as a Perinatal Peer Support Worker within Mental Health Services. For Graduate Health Education Officers, additional relevant health degree required.
* Demonstrated experience in the ability to collaborate, developing, providing and evaluating group and individual peer led interventions and education.
* Experience in the facilitation of reflective supervision and mentoring of staff with a lived experience.
* Demonstrated understanding of current local, State and National legislation and standards relevant to mental health and a demonstrated commitment to consumer led recovery principles and trauma informed care in the perinatal period.
* Highly developed communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary team and with a diverse range of stakeholders including consumers, families and service providers
* Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as an effective team member
* Demonstrated excellent computer skills (proficient in MS Office applications)
* Current unrestricted NSW drivers licence and willingness to travel
