About Landcare Tasmania
Landcare Tasmania is the peak body that represents, supports, strengthens and grows the community Landcare movement in Tasmania. It is the oldest State-based Landcare organisation in Australia with more than 250 member groups, plus individual and associate members; supporting over 7,000 volunteers to maintain and improve the health of Tasmanias natural and working landscapes.
Landcare Tasmania is a not-for-profit, non-government organisation and registered charity. We work closely with the community, government bodies, businesses, educational institutions and other environmental organisations to achieve environmental and sustainability outcomes for Tasmania. Primary Purpose
Landcare Tasmania is seeking capable and motivated people to join our growing team and support the delivery and governance of projects across Tasmania. These roles contribute to the planning, implementation and reporting of a diverse portfolio of projects spanning landscape restoration, community engagement and sustainable land management.
We are inviting expressions of interest from candidates interested in project delivery roles at both Project Manager and Project Coordinator level. Depending on experience and organisational needs, applicants may be considered across both roles.
About the Roles
Our Project Managers & Project Coordinators oversee the development, delivery and reporting of important Landcare Tasmania projects. Our projects focus on areas such as Member Support, Landscape Restoration, Community Outreach and Education. The Project Managers and Project Coordinators work closely with the Program Manager and Network Engagement team.
Key Capabilities and Experience Project Manager
We are seeking candidates who can demonstrate:
* Strong understanding and experience in using project management principles and methodologies
* Proven experience leading end-to-end project delivery (planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting) including integrating engagement planning, delivery and evaluation into project design
* Strong budget management and financial oversight experience
* Experience leading teams, contractors and/or complex stakeholder environments
* Ability to manage multiple projects and provide high-level oversight, governance and quality assurance
* Demonstrated ability to design and lead strategic engagement processes (aligned with IAP2 principles), including setting clear objectives, selecting appropriate methods, risk management and delivering engagement with key stakeholders (landholders, community, industry and government) that informs decision-making
* Proven ability to manage risk, compliance and reporting requirements
* Current valid Drivers Licence
Project Coordinator
We are seeking candidates who can demonstrate:
* Experience supporting or delivering components of projects (e.g. coordination, on-ground delivery, reporting)
* Strong organisational skills and ability to manage tasks across multiple projects
* Experience working with landholders, community groups or volunteers including supporting or delivering on-ground engagement activities
* Ability to support project planning, data collection (e.g. monitoring), and reporting
* Ability to support engagement planning, including coordinating engagement activities, capturing participation data, and contributing to engagement reporting
* Practical, on-ground delivery capability and willingness to travel
* Current valid Drivers Licence
Shared Criteria (Applicable to Both Roles)
* Sound understanding of biodiversity conservation, natural resource management and/or sustainable agriculture in Tasmania
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build productive professional relationships across diverse stakeholders
* Ability to work practically and respectfully with landholders and regional communities
* Demonstrated problem-solving ability and adaptability in a changing environment
* Strong digital literacy and ability to quickly learn new systems and tools
* Maintains a high level of integrity, professionalism and respect for confidentiality
