The Role
As a Bookings Clerk/ Forklift Operator, you'll play a dual role within our operations team, combining hands-on freight handling with transport bookings and allocation support to ensure smooth daily operations.
This role suits someone who enjoys being on the floor while also supporting the coordination of freight movements.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
* Allocating and managing transport bookings in a busy operations environment
* Liaising with drivers, operations staff, and customers to ensure accurate freight movement
* Safely loading and unloading freight, including palletised and oversized items
* General forklift operation and dockhand duties such as scanning, sorting, and staging freight
* Ensuring all bookings and movements align with operational schedules
* Following strict safety procedures and contributing to a zero-harm workplace
This is a fast-paced, hands-on role requiring strong organisation, attention to detail, and a proactive approach.
What You'll Need
* A current and valid Forklift Licence
* Proven forklift experience (minimum 1 year preferred)
* Bookings or allocation experience within transport, logistics, or a similar industry (desired)
* Freight handling experience in a transport or warehouse environment
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with drivers and operations teams
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines
* A strong commitment to safe work practices and teamwork
Shift Details
* AM shift – early morning start, Monday to Friday
* Full-time permanent position
* Overtime available when required
