The Opportunity
We are supporting a major Federal Government program seeking experienced Batch Manager / Mainframe Software Engineers (APS6 equivalent).
This engagement sits within a large, high-impact delivery environment supporting critical national systems and services.

Key Responsibilities
* Manage and maintain batch processing schedules across enterprise systems
* Support development teams with reliable and optimised batch operations
* Undertake analysis, design, development, testing and maintenance activities
* Provide technical input into system design and integration
* Troubleshoot and resolve issues, including after-hours batch support
* Ensure compliance with software development and release processes
* Develop and maintain technical documentation
* Collaborate with stakeholders to support delivery outcomes and system performance
Skills and Experience Technical
* Strong experience in mainframe batch management environments
* Experience with:
o IBM Mainframe
o IBM Work Scheduler (OPC / ZOS)
o JCL, COBOL, Broadcom Gen
o DB2, SQL, SPUFI, OPTIM
* Experience across software development lifecycle (SDLC)
* Strong troubleshooting and support capability
Experience
* APS6-equivalent experience in Government or large enterprise environments
* Experience in complex, high-volume systems
* Ability to work under limited direction and manage competing priorities
Security Clearance
* Must be an Australian Citizen
* Must hold a Baseline clearance, or higher
