At Island Berries Tasmania, we're passionate about what we do — and it shows in every jar, every batch, and every bite. We're a growing Tasmanian food business with a proud commitment to quality, local produce, and the kind of care that only comes from a team that truly loves what they make.

You'll be responsible for scheduling and managing food production, developing and testing new recipes, with a dedicated team of kitchen, packaging, warehouse and dispatch staff — all while maintaining the high food safety and quality standards our customers trust.
Working Monday to Friday, you'll report directly to the General Manager and you'll play a key role in shaping how we grow.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Scheduling and organising food production efficiently and profitably
* Sourcing and ordering quality ingredients and materials
* Developing and testing new recipes in collaboration with the GM and Sales & Marketing Manager
* Overseeing production to ensure food safety management plans (HACCP) are followed

* Maintaining clean, safe, and well‐organised production areas
* Operating specialist kitchen equipment including Steam Jacketed Kettles, agitators, transfer pumps and scales
* Monitoring and recording critical production data including temperature, Brix, pH and viscosity
* Attending regular management meetings and contributing to continuous improvement
About You
You're an experienced food production professional who takes pride in quality and thrives in a hands‐on environment. You bring both the technical know‐how and the people skills to lead a team with warmth and confidence.
You will have:
* Significant experience in a commercial cookery or food production environment
* Strong knowledge of food safety principles and HACCP
* HACCP certification current within the last three years, or a willingness to obtain this through company‐funded training
* Excellent organisational and communication skills
* Solid computer literacy including Microsoft Office
* A genuine passion for Tasmanian produce and food quality
* A current forklift licence would be a bonus, but it's not essential.
