South PAN Project Manager

The Project Manager role in Positioning Australia Branch within Space Division is responsible for project management on the SouthPAN Program. The role maintains a strong relationship with Geoscience Australia's delivery partner Land Information New Zealand, supporting the joint delivery and operation of SouthPAN.

This role is responsible for managing one of the projects within the large, high value SouthPAN program that includes multiple technical and infrastructure projects and other complex stakeholder management, delivered across multiple organisations and countries. The project is currently in the establishment (acquisition) phase.

The role is responsible for the project management function, providing leadership and integration to improve outcomes during the entire lifecycle of program implementation and sustainment.

The Project Manager reports to the EL2 Senior Project Manager.

The Project Manager will:

* apply professional project management skill and expertise to achieve complex project outcomes.
* plan, execute, and deliver projects according to defined timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
* develop detailed project plans, including scope, schedule, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
* monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
* prepare and present regular status reports to senior management and stakeholders.
* ensure compliance with organizational policies, standards, and governance frameworks.
* build and sustain long-term working relationships with key stakeholders, including other teams, peers and colleagues.
* undertake knowledge transfer to GA/LINZ project management team, including providing project management trainings.
* adhere to the APS Values and Code of Conduct and consistently behave in an honest, ethical and professional way.

* Familiarity with Project Management Frameworks, the Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and systems engineering methodologies.

Required skills, knowledge, experience and/or qualifications

* Minimum 7+ years of experience in project management, with a focus on large-scale or complex programs.
* Strong understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
* Proven ability to manage schedules and project deliverables.
* Proficiency in project management tools (e.g. MS Project).
* Experience in delivering Government programs.
* Strong interpersonal skills.

APS Equivalent level:

EL1+
