About the Team The Forensic Child and Youth Mental Health Service is a specialist Program within the Children's Health Queensland Hospital and Health Service and is also part of the broader Queensland Forensic Mental Health Service. Forensic CYMHS provides assessment and treatment services to young people with mental health issues and significant behavioural disturbance that have resulted/or place them at elevated risk of involvement with the criminal justice system. The goals of the Forensic Program are to promote recovery in children and young people with mental health needs and offending behaviours, increase community safety and reduce the risk of offending. Our vision is to provide high quality clinical care and reduce service inequity to child and youth forensic mental health consumers across Queensland. About the Role The Dual Diagnosis Coordinator supports clinicians and services across the mental health, alcohol and drug services to provide screening, assessment and treatment of young people who present with comorbid mental health and substance use concerns. The Senior Dual Diagnosis Coordinator is also responsible for developing innovations within the area of comorbid mental health and substance use concerns program portfolio.
