We are looking for a Science Technician (Weed Biological Control) to join our high-performing research team:
Contribute to critical weed biological control research through laboratory, quarantine, and field-based work
Apply scientific methods and maintain compliance with safety and accreditation standards
Support the generation of reliable data and collaborate with experts to deliver environmental and agriculture solutions to invasive weeds in Queensland.
Invasive Plants and Animals (IPA) significantly affect the environment, agricultural production, infrastructure, human health and our way of life in general. The IPA program directs, facilitates and delivers strategic and targeted action to reduce the impact of invasive species in Queensland.
As our Science Technician (Weed Biological Control), you will contribute to important research tackling invasive weeds by conducting laboratory, quarantine, and field-based tasks. You will apply scientific methods, maintain compliance with SOPs and safety standards, and support data generation that drives innovative biological control. This role offers the chance to develop technical expertise, work both independently and collaboratively, and make a tangible impact on environmental sustainability.
