The Opportunity
We're looking for a motivated and curious Graduate Data & BI Engineer to join our Sydney team.
You will work alongside senior consultants on live client engagements, gaining hands‐on experience across Microsoft Azure data platforms, SQL‐based analytics, Python data processing, and business intelligence reporting.
This is a learn‐by‐doing role in a consulting environment that values structured thinking, attention to detail, and ownership.
What You'll Work On
* Supporting data ingestion, transformation, and modelling within Microsoft Azure environments
* Working with Azure services such as:
o Azure Data Factory
o Azure Synapse Analytics / Microsoft Fabric
o Azure SQL Database
o Azure Data Lake
* Writing SQL queries to analyse, transform, and validate datasets
* Using Python (e.g. pandas, notebooks, scripts) for data cleaning and exploratory analysis
* Assisting in building and enhancing Power BI dashboards for business stakeholders
* Supporting data quality checks, validation processes, and automation tasks
* Learning how business requirements translate into data models, KPIs, and actionable insights
* Contributing to documentation and structured delivery within client projects
What We're Looking For
Must‐Have
* Recently completed (or about to complete) a degree in Data, Analytics, Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field
* Foundational knowledge of SQL for querying and analysing data
* Basic Python skills for data manipulation and analysis
* Strong numerical comfort and analytical thinking
* Genuine interest in cloud data platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure
* Detail‐oriented, structured, and eager to learn
* Strong communication skills and ability to work in a professional consulting environment
Nice‐to‐Have
* Exposure to Microsoft Azure, Power BI, or Microsoft Fabric
* University or personal data projects
* Basic understanding of data warehousing or BI concepts
* Familiarity with Git or version control
