**Survey Technician - be appreciated here.**
It is expected that you can accurately:
- Calculate the position of the dwelling on the property and place offset marks When setting out dwellings for construction
- Use Surveying equipment and cameras to photograph sites
- Read DP's and calculate from reference marks to property corners in the field, using hand held calculators
- Use appropriate coding when taking observations and draw field notes to assist drafters
- Level and detail on vacant land and existing dwelling lots, Transfer of bench marks, obtain spot heights location of improvements and trees etc. all with data recorder
- Be organised and efficient in your travel between jobs, as the position will require several jobs being done each day.
It is appreciated that there would be a small 'incubation' period where you would get used to new methods of doing things, and there would be a learning curve to follow, but it is expected that you would be able to complete the following works in the below timeframes:
- Setout on a house: 1-1.5 hours (including field calculations to position the house)
- Vacant Land Contour Survey: approx. 1 hour
If you are able to confidently complete these straightforward works, over time you would be afforded more responsibility and access to subdivision work and strata plans.
