About the role
We are seeking a hands-on leader with a strong passion for operations and team development. This role is responsible for the effective management of the warehouse, including all stock control and freight movements, while driving continuous improvement across warehousing processes. The successful candidate will lead and develop warehousing staff to maximise productivity, ensure compliance with all WHS requirements, and achieve cost and efficiency objectives.
What does my day to day look like?
* Leadership of a small supportiveWarehouse team of Storepersons & Drivers,ensuring they are properly trained, motivated and working efficiently
* Manage all aspects of the warehouse's day-to-day operations, including receiving, storing, inventory management, order fulfillment, and shipping
* Supervise and lead warehouse staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management
* Ensure accurate inventory levels, conduct regular stock checks, and implement measures to prevent stockouts and overstock situations
* Maintain a safe work environment and enforce safety regulations and procedures to minimize accidents and injuries
* Continuously evaluate warehouse processes to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost savings
* Implement quality control procedures to ensure that products are handled and stored properly to maintain their integrity
* Oversee the maintenance of warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and vehicles, to ensure they are in good working condition
* Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods
* Maintain accurate records of inventory, transactions, and other warehouse-related documentation
* Work closely with customer service teams to ensure timely order processing and resolution of any warehouse-related customer issues
Desired Skills and Experience
What you will bring to the role:
* Previous experience in a management or supervisory role within a Warehouseenvironment
* Safety focus mindset – values workplace safety and puts it first
* Knowledge of WH&S and inventory control best practices
* Warehouse and/or Distribution certificate or equivalent experience
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Client and safety focused, and results-driven
* Demonstrate ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high attention to detail
* Hold a current and valid forklift license
