The Nursing Unit Manager is a leadership role responsible for ensuring the development and maintenance of high-performing, evidence-based safe and effective acute medicine services.
This position requires strong clinical leadership, management, and patient-centred care coordination skills in a supportive acute medical environment.
About the Role:
* Provide leadership for Clinical Acute Medical Services within the hospital, promoting an integrated service.
* Coordinate and perform the Acute Medical Ward to ensure service provision, patient assessment, care planning, care coordination, and continuing management in accordance with professional standards and legislative requirements.
* Participate in and facilitate the promotion of research and evidence-based care as appropriate.
* Act as a role model and champion of change by driving the development, implementation, and evaluation of contemporary, evidence-based models of care, clinical practices, guidelines, and standards.
Essential Requirements:
* Registered Nurse authorised to practice by the relevant regulatory body.
* Relevant postgraduate management qualifications or experience, or working towards.
* Nursing Unit Management or In-Charge experience in an acute/subacute facility and/or ambulatory setting.
* Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and manage a team in a multidisciplinary environment.
* Demonstrated ability to manage financial and human resources.
* Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.
* Commitment to improving healthcare through quality improvement and implementation of evidence-based care.
