We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Mine Geologist to join our team. This role is key to providing leadership, technical expertise, and hands-on involvement in all aspects of mine geology. You'll play a vital role in ensuring the geological integrity of our operations, from resource definition to grade control and mine planning support.
Your duties will include: Lead and communicate a strong geological understanding of the deposit. Ensure geological data is acquired, recorded, and presented to meet company and industry standards. Plan, organise, and oversee all in-pit grade control activities including drilling, sampling, blast levelling, mark-outs, tallying, and floor cleaning. Supervise grade control drilling and sampling operations, ensuring data quality and integrity are maintained throughout the process. Mentor and supervise Mine Geologists and Pit Technicians. Collaborate closely with Mine Engineers to ensure efficient and effective mining operations and liaise with Mill Managers to optimise mill feed quality. Conduct in-pit geological and structural mapping to inform ore block design, modelling, and optimise extraction efficiency. Implement and enforce safe and efficient mining procedures in coordination with broader site operations. Qualifications & Experience: Tertiary degree qualification in Geology from a recognised University. At least 5 years of Gold experience in mine geology. Proven ability to lead and work effectively within a team environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments. Experience using acQuire database, Leapfrog and Deswik (highly regarded) A strong commitment to safety, with demonstrated leadership in team safety performance.
