Waste Operator Leading Hand - Beach Cleaner at the City of Stirling. Lead a dedicated team in maintaining the beauty and safety of Stirling’s beaches. Hands-on role operating specialised equipment, supporting your team, and making a visible impact every day.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead daily beach cleaning operations
- Operate beach cleaning vehicles and equipment (tractor with beach rake, rear loader rubbish truck, 4WD utility and buggy)
- Allocate and supervise team tasks
- Maintain vehicles and conduct pre-start checks
- Monitor and report site safety issues
- Communicate via two-way radio
- Assist with rostering and shift coverage
- Act in Team Leader role when required
- Ability to work a seven day rotating roster (regular weekend work - 2 weekends per month)
Qualifications
What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for a hands-on leader with a passion for keeping our beaches clean and safe. You’ll ideally bring:
- Year 10 certificate or equivalent
- HR class driver’s licence
- Current First Aid and Police Clearance
- Ability to operate beach cleaning equipment
- Solid communication and customer service skills
- Flexibility to work weekends and early shifts
- Experience supervising teams and contractors
- Proactive approach to task completion
