J.G. Schulz has been providing quality motor body building services to South Australian businesses since ****.
80 years on and in our fourth generation, the family business is still going strong.
Our product range includes tray bodies, tippers, trailers, vans, curtain siders, tankers, chassis modifications and more.
We can modify or repair your existing body or provide advice and expertise to any new body.
With an experienced team of qualified motor body builders J.G. Schulz is a solid business geared for the future.
We are currently seeking highly skilled and experienced welders to join and work with our team in Wingfield SA on a full-time and permanent basis.
Responsibilities
Read and interpret project plans, engineering drawings, blueprints, and other written instructions and diagrams to perform tasks.
Perform fabrication and repair works on various metal structures and components according to engineering drawings, specifications, and blueprints.
Work with a variety of materials, including steel, aluminium, and other alloys.
Weld small and large components such as copper plumbing, beams, and pipelines; perform the appropriate type of weld based on project needs and specifications.
Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
Ensure fabrication and repairs are carried out using the proper safety guidelines to prevent rework.
Use a range of hand and power tools, including grinders, drills, and cutting tools.
Conduct quality checks on completed work to ensure it meets standard specifications.
Monitor machinery for appropriate usage and temperature.
Follow and enforce strict safety regulations such as wearing heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, and safety shoes.
Qualifications
Trade certificate in Engineering Fabrication or equivalent.
Post-trade experience in the same field.
Proficient in performing all welding, gouging, cutting or other duties.
Proactive attitude with desire to work reliably as part of an outstanding team to deliver excellence for our clients.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and blueprints.
Experience working with a variety of materials, including steel, aluminium, and other alloys.
Familiarity with a range of hand and power tools, including grinders, drills, and cutting tools.
Strong attention to detail and ability to conduct quality checks on completed work.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team to complete assigned tasks.
Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations.
Strong communication and reporting skills.
Self-motivated, organised, punctual and reliable.
Great work ethics.
