About the Role
GHD is seeking an in-house lawyer to cover a 12-month parental leave position within its APAC Legal team. The successful applicant will support internal, multi-disciplinary clients in a dynamic and encouraging work environment.
Responsibilities
* Review, negotiate and draft a wide range of commercial contracts, including consultancy contracts for design-and-construct, design-only, alliancing and pure consultancy services for major infrastructure projects.
* Provide advice on general legal issues that arise in day-to-day operations at a global consulting firm, covering contract law, commercial disputes, litigation management, legislative compliance, internal policies and corporate governance matters.
Qualifications
* Post‐qualification experience (PQE) with some exposure to an in-house legal position.
* Robust commercial contracting skills, ideally with experience with infrastructure and defence clients/projects.
* Experience in varied procurement formats and drafting of complex project contracts.
* Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and a collaborative team mindset.
* Robust organisational and time‐management skills.
* Experience working with geographically dispersed teams on complex engineering and/or design projects.
Location & Contract
The role is a 12-month parental leave position in either the Melbourne or Adelaide office, with potential to become permanent.
