The Shoreline’s Pearl Cafe seeks an experienced barista who is friendly and compassionate and enjoys working with the elderly. The role supports a CREED focused on care and service within an aged care setting.

In This Role, You Will Be Responsible For
- Prepare the cafe for the day’s trade
- Check and replenish stock
- Take and prepare orders for customers
- Manage the preparation of orders to minimise wait time
- Present all items with a level of finesse and in line with Chef’s instructions
- Clean in between meals, wipe down tables and explicit dirty plates and trays
- Close down cafe at end of day
- Be able to work around people, be polite and accepting of resident input

About You
You should have compassion and empathy for the elderly and other diverse individuals, with an intuitive responsiveness to residents’ needs while remaining calm and positive under pressure. You are motivated to contribute to bettering residents’ lives and to be part of a facility aiming to set a new standard.
- Demonstrated empathy with and commitment to the care of older people
- Experience in delivering exceptional customer-centred service outcomes
- Kindness and empathy across all channels, aligning with The Shoreline’s vision and CREED
- Understanding of ageing processes and a commitment to advocate for older people in care
- Police check clearance
- Up-to-date vaccination as required by legislation or industry practice
To Succeed in This Role You Will Need
- Demonstrated empathy with and commitment to the care of older people
- Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer-focused service outcomes
- Ability to model behaviours that align with The Shoreline’s CREED
- Understanding of the ageing process and advocacy for older people in residential or home care
- Police check clearance
- Up-to-date vaccination as required by law or industry best practice
