We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced IT Support Technician to join a short-term project based in Townsville. This hands-on role requires someone who is reliable, technically proficient, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing environment.
Project Scope:
* Provide on-site desktop and end-user support, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and peripheral issues.
* Decommission workstations in accordance with company IT asset management procedures.
* Assist in the relocation of IT equipment during an office move, ensuring systems are safely disconnected, transported, and reconnected at the new site.
* Support general IT tasks as needed throughout the project duration.
Key Responsibilities:
* Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
* Perform data backup, imaging, and device retirement procedures.
* Maintain accurate documentation of all IT assets moved, decommissioned, or installed.
* Collaborate with internal IT teams and stakeholders to ensure minimal disruption during office transition.
* Ensure compliance with company IT policies and data security protocols.
Skills & Experience Required:
* Proven experience in desktop support or field IT support roles.
* Strong working knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and standard business applications.
* Experience in hardware decommissioning, imaging, and equipment setup.
* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
* Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
* Strong communication skills and a customer service mindset.
* Experience in office moves or large-scale IT deployments is highly desirable.
* Must be able to lift and move IT equipment safely (monitors, desktops, etc.).
