Job Title: Child Protection Specialist
Role Overview
The Department of Communities and Justice is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Child Protection Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Child Protection team, you will be responsible for working with vulnerable children, young people, and their families to provide support and services that promote the safety, well-being, and resilience of individuals and communities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work collaboratively with other agencies and stakeholders to develop and implement effective strategies to prevent child abuse and neglect.
* Provide expert advice and guidance to parents, family members, and caregivers on how to promote healthy relationships and prevent harm to children.
* Conduct comprehensive assessments of child safety and risk factors, and develop individualized plans to address identified needs and concerns.
* Collaborate with community-based organizations and other service providers to ensure a coordinated response to child protection needs.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* A relevant diploma or degree in a field related to child development, social work, or psychology.
* At least two years of experience working with vulnerable children, young people, and their families in a child protection or related field.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
