About the Role
The position is located in the civil design department of a prominent consulting engineering firm with offices and teams based in several regional locations. The job involves involvement in all aspects of projects and project management. Key responsibilities include:
* Analysis and preparation of technical reports;
* Inspections of works in progress to verify compliance against design;
* Administration of construction contracts;
* Mentoring staff;
* Scoping of projects and preparation of fee proposals; and
* Communicating effectively with clients and interpreting their needs.
Key Qualifications and Skills
The successful candidate will have extensive Australian experience in a relevant civil engineering area. This experience must be backed by a degree in civil engineering that is recognised by Engineers Australia. Registration as a Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) or eligibility for registration is highly regarded. Additionally, the candidate should have:
* Demonstrated knowledge of Austroads and DTMR design requirements;
* Experience with DRAINS, CIRCLY and WaterCad software packages;
* Minimum 10 years of civil engineering experience, including at least 5 years of relevant Australian experience.
A valid unrestricted driver's license and Construction White Card are also required, as occasional travel to job sites using company vehicles may be necessary.
