Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and dedicated Horse Trainer to join our team. The successful applicant will be responsible for the training, conditioning, and performance development of racehorses, ensuring they are prepared to compete at a professional level.
Key Responsibilities
* Train, condition, and prepare horses for racing and competition events.
* Develop and implement tailored training and exercise programs.
* Assess horse fitness, behaviour, and performance progress.
* Supervise and instruct stable staff in horse handling and care techniques.
* Oversee feeding programs and ensure nutritional requirements are met.
* Monitor health and wellbeing of horses, identifying injuries or issues and coordinating with veterinarians and farriers as required.
* Maintain accurate records of training schedules, performance, and treatments.
* Ensure compliance with relevant racing industry regulations and animal welfare standards.
Skills & Experience Required
* Minimum 2–3 years' proven experience as a Horse Trainer.
* Relevant qualification in equine studies, horse training, or a related field (Certificate III or higher preferred but not mandatory).
* Strong knowledge of equine behaviour, conditioning, and training methods.
* Ability to manage and motivate stable staff.
* Sound understanding of racing industry rules and safety practices.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Essential Requirements• Physically fit and capable of performing stable duties.• Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
