DP World Logistics Australia is focused on continuing to build our customer pipeline, providing innovative and transparent customer solutions that delight our customers. This is new role which will be focused on increasing revenue growth and our customer portfolio in the agricultural sector in Australia and beyond. Preferrable location of work is Melbourne. Our service team is based in Melbourne located at our Melbourne Terminal in West Swanson, however other locations such as Sydney and Brisbane will be considered. We pride ourselves on providing flexibility to work at location and or home office. With bespoke offices, ample parking this is a great location to interact with colleagues and customers alike.
**About the role**
Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, the Head of Sales - Agriculture will use their knowledge of the market and the customer base to provide unrivalled customer solutions in the logistics services market. A s a strategic position within the company, DP World will invest in making this role a success, and support the incumbent to achieve business and personal objectives
**Key responsibilities & accountabilities**
Responsible for building and maintaining vertical specific sales pipeline, regularly interfacing with existing and new customers, ultimately understanding and solving our customers pain points to improve the flow of trade
Drive the development of short, medium and long term sales and commercial strategies focused on nominated verticals, evolving product and service offerings, and innovative revenue streams through optimising the Logistics Value Chain leveraging our DP World expertise and assets.
Implementing sales and commercial strategies on the agricultural sales vertical to include effective sales processes and disciplines to secure, retain and maintain customers including account management programs with the aim to scale the logistics business.
Working closely with DP World business divisions and stakeholders both in Australia and overseas to grow identify, build, lead and close major business opportunities that position DP World as a leader with the customer base
Leverage existing networks and knowledge in the Agricultural market (particularly export focused) across Australia and within the wider sector to drive continual growth
**Experience, skills and qualifications**
- Demonstrable experience in the agricultural vertical in freight forwarding, landside logistics and or supply chain management roles, sales development experience essential
- Able to manage priorities, be well organised, methodical and deal well under pressure
- Excel in customer lead generation experience
- Experience in driving and developing relationships in new verticals in the freight forwarding or related logistics market
- Experience in developing customer relationships with a high retention rate
- Excellent consultative sales and relationship management
- Qualification in Business, Logistics will be highly regarded
