Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking a passionate and dedicated Enrolled Nurse to join our Anaesthetics department on a permanent basis, with both full‐time and part‐time options available to suit your lifestyle. Based at our Springfield campus, these roles will be part of a landmark moment in Queensland healthcare at Mater Hospital Springfield — opening early 2026. This state‐of‐the‐art facility will meet the needs of the growing Greater Springfield region. With a mix of public and private beds across ICU, maternity, emergency and medical, surgical services, it's set to care for over 200,000 patients annually.
In this role, you'll deliver high‐quality, delegated nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, contributing to exceptional patient outcomes across the Anaesthetics department. Your key responsibilities will include:
* Conducting comprehensive and accurate nursing assessments using a structured approach, and maintaining clear communication with the supervising Registered Nurse
* Implementing planned, evidence‐based nursing interventions within your scope of practice, as delegated by and in collaboration with the RN
* Supporting effective discharge planning and patient education using relevant health resources
* Acting as a patient advocate, ensuring informed consent is obtained and sensitively navigating barriers to patient understanding
* Contributing to a safe clinical environment by adhering to infection control policies, quality improvement frameworks, and organisational procedures
* Collaborating with a broad multidisciplinary team including medical staff, Allied Health, Clinical Nurse Consultants, and nursing colleagues
* Participating in the teaching and mentoring of nursing students and less experienced Enrolled Nurses
* Supporting continuous professional development for yourself and others
About you
You are a motivated and caring nursing professional who thrives in a fast‐paced, collaborative clinical setting and is committed to delivering safe, compassionate care. To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA)
* A minimum of 1 year of experience in a relevant clinical specialty
* High‐level interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with patients, families, and internal stakeholders at all levels
* A strong understanding of, and commitment to, professional, legal, and ethical nursing standards
* The ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team under the supervision of a Registered Nurse
* A genuine passion for patient‐centred care and continuous learning
