Overview
We are currently seeking multiple Mechanical Engineers at varying levels to support a major mining and minerals project. These contract roles range from Junior through to Senior and Lead-level Mechanical Engineers, all contributing to the delivery of critical mechanical systems and process equipment in a team-oriented, multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical systems including piping, pumps, chutes, bins, and steel structures
- Contribute to or lead engineering reviews and ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations
- Coordinate with international design teams and manufacturing partners to support project delivery
- Assist with procurement specifications, vendor assessments, and technical documentation
- Oversee the delivery and installation of mechanical packages in line with project schedules and quality expectations
- Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to continuous improvement of design processes
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- 0–10+ years of experience in mining, minerals processing, or heavy industrial environments
- Proficiency in design software such as Autodesk Inventor (Tube & Pipe), AutoCAD, or NAVISworks
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, process equipment, and fabrication processes
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with teams across borders
- Familiarity with slurry systems, feeders, agitation equipment, or heavy machinery such as FELs and dozers is advantageous
- Experience in an EPC or multidisciplinary project environment is preferred
- RPEQ or working towards registration is highly regarded for senior-level positions
