Position Overview: As the Manager – Regulatory, Rural and Environmental Health Services for Maranoa Regional Council, you will lead a dedicated team in ensuring compliance with council and state legislation, policies, and procedures. This dynamic role requires a motivated leader capable of fostering collaboration, accountability, and excellence in customer service. Key Responsibilities: Provide leadership and strategic direction to the Regulatory, Rural, and Environmental Health Services Department. Develop, review, and implement policies, procedures, and guidelines related to departmental activities. Supervise investigations of alleged breaches of legislation and complaints, ensuring consistent application of compliance activities. Monitor and evaluate enforcement activities, staying abreast of industry best practices and legislative changes. Oversee animal management activities, including rapid response services, inspection programs, and education initiatives. Provide expert advice and problem-solving for environmental health matters, including food licensing and inspections. Lead rural lands management strategies and initiatives, including stock route and biosecurity management plans. Ensure high standards of customer service and community engagement across all departmental functions. Manage human resources, including training, performance management, and recruitment activities. Contribute to financial management, budget development, and audit compliance. Participate in corporate planning and reporting, including the review and implementation of council policies and strategic documents. Qualifications and Licences: To be successful, you'll need: Demonstrated experience in a leadership role, preferably within local government or regulatory compliance. Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as environmental health, law enforcement, or public administration. Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and industry best practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Proven ability to manage complex projects and deliver results within budget and time constraints.
