Tamworth Regional Council is currently seeking an experienced accounting professional to join their finance team and support the financial sustainability and compliance of council and our region.
As an Accountant with Council you will support the delivery of accurate statutory and management reporting, robust financial processes, effective budget management and the maintenance of core financial systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate best practice statutory and management reporting, financial and rating processes, budget analysis and payroll co-ordination
- Maintenance of the finance system to meet reporting requirements
- Coordinating and conducting ledger reconciliations
- Facilitating continuous improvement of systems and procedures relating to financial functions
- Using a range of communication skills in the workplace including working effectively with others
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED
- Degree in Accounting or similar
- 3-5 yrs management or financial accounting experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- A collaborative mindset and strong communication skills
- NSW Drivers Licence

Salary range: Grade 16 - $1,792.30 - $1,939.40 per week plus 12% superannuation for a 35 hour work week.
Flexible working arrangements will be considered by mutual agreement and according to operational requirements.
