Sign-On Bonuses for Medical Assistants (Limited Time Offer):
$4,000 for 0-1 years of experience (full-time)
$5,000 for 1+ years of experience (full-time)
Eligible candidates are hired into a Full or Part-time MA position and accept the offer. Bonus amounts are prorated for part-time hires; per diem hires are ineligible. Current MaineHealth employees are ineligible; former employees are ineligible until more than 6 months of separation.
Your role:
MaineHealth Ophthalmology - Damariscotta is seeking a Medical Assistant. We value candidates who thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess strong communication skills, maintain a positive attitude, and demonstrate reliability. Responsibilities include working closely with providers to enhance patient care through rooming patients, taking vital signs, assisting with procedures, suture removals, and returning patient calls. A positive attitude and team spirit are essential.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
Education: High School diploma or GED preferred. Must meet one of the following:
Graduated from an accredited vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting with 160 hours of clinical experience,
Completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program with 6 months of clinical experience,
One year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice setting (evaluated case-by-case).
License/Certifications: Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, or NCCT certification preferred or achieved within 1 year. Current BLS certification required or obtained within 30 days of start. NH Med Tech License or NH EMT and National Registry EMT license required for positions in New Hampshire.
Experience: Relevant experience as a Medical Assistant is preferred.
