Pembroke School are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher to join our Middle School team on a fixed-term (for leave purposes), full-time basis for Semester 1, 2026.

About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to bring creativity, passion, and expertise into the classroom, guiding students through the richness of language, literature, and critical thinking. You will play an active role in shaping their confidence as readers, writers, and communicators, while encouraging curiosity, empathy, and a lifelong appreciation of English.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Delivering engaging and innovative English lessons that foster a love of learning.
- Supporting students to develop strong literacy, analytical, and communication skills.
- Contributing to a positive and collaborative Middle School environment.
- Incorporating a variety of teaching strategies to cater to diverse learning styles.
- Actively participating in the life of the School through co-curricular and pastoral care contributions.
About You
You are an inspiring educator who thrives on engaging young learners and sparking curiosity in the classroom. You bring energy, adaptability, and a genuine commitment to student growth and wellbeing.
You will bring:
- Experience teaching English, ideally within a Middle School context.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with students, staff, and families.
- A passion for literature and language, and the ability to share this with young people.
- A collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to faculty and school initiatives.
- Flexibility and enthusiasm to embrace the opportunities of a dynamic learning environment.
Required for Employment
- Current Working with Children Check (South Australia)
- Current Plink RRHAN-EC training
- Masterclass and Fundamentals (including Protective Practices)
- First Aid and CPR
