About the Role

Working closely with the Director, the Assistant Director – HR Operations and Graduate Program will lead a small team to deliver client-focused HR services across the employee lifecycle. The role involves supporting recruitment, onboarding, payroll, and the Graduate Program while contributing to process improvements and the establishment of new HR systems and practices.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead HR operations across recruitment, onboarding, payroll, and general employee enquiries
* Coordinate the Graduate Program, including rotations, reporting, and pastoral support
* Provide expert advice on APS employment policies, legislation, and recruitment regulations
* Support the implementation and configuration of HR systems such as eRecruit and Aurion
* Develop, review, and improve HR processes, policies, and workflows
* Contribute to briefs, papers, reports, and broader corporate outcomes

Skills & Experience

* Demonstrated experience managing APS recruitment and onboarding processes, including knowledge of gazette requirements
* Experience coordinating a Graduate or similar entry-level program
* Knowledge of payroll processes and APS HR systems (e.g., eRecruit, Aurion, ServiceNow)
* Strong communication, relationship management, and stakeholder engagement skills
* Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
* Ability to lead and mentor APS staff, adapt to change, and manage multiple priorities effectively

Existing Baseline security clearance is a mandatory requirement for this position.
