You’re agile and flexible because you can see the benefits of change.
You have the opportunity to gain a wealth of expertise and a diverse range of skills, providing insight and knowledge without losing sight of your work-life balance or wellbeing.
In this role, you'll:
Play a key role in safeguarding the cyber resilience of operational technology systems across the transport network, at a time when assets are becoming more digital, automated, and interconnected. You’ll operate as a senior technical authority, shaping how cyber security risks are identified, governed, and managed across road and rail environments to ensure services remain safe, reliable, and sustainable.
Working under delegated technical authority from the Professional Head Telecommunications Engineering & Operational Technology, you’ll contribute to the development and continuous improvement of engineering standards, controls, and assurance frameworks for operational technology cyber security. You’ll provide expert advice on regulatory compliance, emerging threats, and evolving technologies, while leading technical integrity audits, managing type approvals and concessions, and overseeing assurance activities to maintain network integrity.
This is a standalone technical specialist role with a high degree of autonomy. You’ll work closely with internal and external stakeholders to resolve complex technical and operational issues, influence future technology decisions, and contribute to future-focused thinking on automation, signalling, and digital infrastructure. As the transport network continues to evolve, your work will directly shape how cyber security is embedded into operational technology by design.

You have proven experience developing and applying engineering standards, technical specifications, and assurance processes, and are confident engaging with Technical Assurance Organisations, delivery partners, and regulators. You’re able to work independently, collaborate effectively across disciplines, and communicate complex technical risks clearly to a broad range of stakeholders. Above all, you’re motivated by protecting the resilience of critical transport infrastructure as technology continues to advance.
