What you will do as a Lawyer/Senior Lawyer in the Competition and Consumer Law Unit (CCLU)
* Draft or settle court documents including pleadings and submissions, section 155 notices, section 87B undertakings and other legal documents in support of investigations and litigation.
* Provide legal and legal policy advice on complex issues relating to the enforcement functions of the ACCC.
* Conduct legal and related research into complex matters relevant to ACCC responsibilities under relevant legislation.
* Assist with the conduct of investigations, manage Court and Tribunal proceedings involving the ACCC, and provide assistance to the ACCC in the performance of the ACCC’s compliance and enforcement functions.
* Assist the Managing Principal Lawyers, Principal Lawyers and Deputy General Counsel, CCLU as required.
Lawyers (APS 6) would have relevant experience in competition or consumer law and may work autonomously at times but would generally work under supervision.
Senior Lawyers (EL1) would typically have significant experience advising in competition and or consumer law and be capable of working autonomously and, at times, with some supervision when providing legal advice.
About You
In order to succeed in the role, you will have:
* Admission as a practitioner, however described, of the High Court or the Supreme Court of an Australian State or Territory, or the ability to become so admitted before commencing in the role.
* Substantial legal or enforcement experience (typically at least three (APS6) to five (EL1) years) relevant to the competition or consumer law enforcement functions of the ACCC.
All candidates are expected to meet the APS Integrated Leadership Profile (ILS) for the classification advertised.

Salary
* Lawyer 1 (APS6) $99,562 - $111,590 (plus 15.4% superannuation)
* Lawyer 1 (EL1) $123,702 - $153,880 (plus 15.4% superannuation)
