We’re currently seeking a passionate and experienced Mobile Plant Mechanic - Resident (known internally as a Service Technician) to join our growing Vermeer team. This role will be based in Canberra, with operational support from our Sydney branch, offering the autonomy of a resident role backed by the strength of a large, supportive network.

What You’ll Be Doing
As a Resident Service Technician, you will:
* Diagnose, inspect, recondition, and repair Vermeer products.
* Conduct regular pro-active service maintenance as per schedules.
* Ensure safety, quality and housekeeping rules are followed at all times.
* Document relevant machine information and repairs completed on work order, including parts, time and fluids used in our internal management system in line with company.
* Manage consignment stock allocated to the region for parts and service support.
* Proactively study and stay current on industry and product information providing advice and guidance to customers, the wider team and other key stakeholders within the business.
* Build and maintain excellent rapport with our customer base in the region.
* Deliver expert service and support to our customers and partners
* Contribute to a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvement
What We’re Looking For Someone Who
* Mechanical Trade Certificate
* Experience in the service and maintenance of heavy diesel products, including engine overhauls and major repairs including solid skill base in electrical, hydraulic and diagnostic.
* A current and valid medium rigid driver’s licence.
* Strong customer service focus and dedicated work ethic.
* A mature attitude and logical and methodical approach to your work.
* Possession of high risk work tickets and/or licenses would be highly regarded.
* Is safety conscious, solutions focused, and ready to grow
* A proactive team player who takes ownership and drives results
This role requires specific certifications or licenses; we’ll request them later in the recruitment process.
