About the Role
This is a key function within our Information Systems team. The successful candidate will provide high-level, results-oriented network support services to ensure our network, communications, and infrastructure are consistently maintained, effectively managed, and continually enhanced.
* Deliver high-level network support services to maintain, manage, and enhance our network, communications, and infrastructure
* Provide results-driven network support services to ensure our network, communications, and infrastructure services are efficient and cost-effective
* Liaise with IT staff on security and network matters; liaise with external providers; and set policies and procedures for staff and volunteers to follow
* Support the IT Support Services Manager including assisting with new technologies as they emerge and building an improved core network infrastructure
Key Responsibilities
This role requires flexibility, solution-focusing, and the ability to balance competing demands. Key responsibilities include:
* Assisting with new technologies as they emerge and building an improved core network infrastructure
* Maintaining good supplier relationship skills and awareness
* Providing out-of-hours support on a rotating roster basis (average of one week per two months) as the IS Duty Officer
* Contributing to the development of an effective and efficient IT support service
Working with Us
We are a volunteer-based emergency service committed to working with communities and partners to build resilience. Our highly skilled and equipped Volunteers are trained comprehensively in a wide range of emergency environments.
We have specialist teams that provide a 24/7 response to road accident and trauma incidents. We assist other emergency services during major bushfire and emergency incidents.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:
* Strong technical skills, particularly in network management and administration
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Able to work flexibly and provide out-of-hours support when required
* Good understanding of IT systems and infrastructure
